When you become a MySurvey member, you are part of a large international community. Some of our members requested additional information about MySurvey panel. If you want to learn more about MySurvey as well, some questions might have already been answered.

App Usage

What does the app do?

The app is designed to make it easier for you to participate in the MySurvey panel and to see more opportunities for surveys.  The app includes:

  • - Notifications of surveys
  • - Checking of rewards
  • - Updates of profiling information
  • - Options for location and mobile activity tracking

What happens if I have more than one device such as a phone or tablet?

You can download the app to more than one device (such smartphone, tablet, etc) if you like. You can participate in the panel through all the apps you have installed but you would be able to participate only once to each survey.

What are the cost implications of completing a survey on my mobile device?

If you have an unlimited data plan or are connected to a wifi network from your device there should be no additional cost for you. If you have a paid data plan or are roaming overseas then please be aware that costs could be incurred.

What happens if I am abroad?

If you are roaming overseas please check whether your device has turned off the mobile data connection (most phones/tablets do this automatically). The app will only use the internet if your settings are turned on, and please be aware that costs could be incurred.

If i uninstall the app, does it cancel my MySurvey membership?

If you uninstall the app, this has no influence on your MySurvey panel membership. You would not be able to participate in app-based mobile surveys and will be missing survey opportunities.

What if I lose my phone/tablet?

If your device is stolen, log into the Web portal and change your password to lock access to your account.

App Technical

How do I uninstall the app?

To uninstall the app is slightly different depending on the device that you have.

  • On iPhone – press and hold the application until a cross appears in the left hand corner of the icon. Select the cross to delete the app
  • On Android – go to settings> applications> manage applications. Select the application and then select “Uninstall”
  • On all other phones – highlight the application and choose “remove” or “delete” from the Options menu.

Is it okay to use wifi?

Yes, you can use wifi when at home or abroad and the application will connect to the internet when you are connected.

Will the app impact the speed of my device or the battery life?

The app should not affect the speed of your device or browsing experience. The app will not impact battery life, however there could be minor impact from the location and activity options.

Does the app work on any phone?

The app is designed to work on any smart phone, tablet or feature phone. Basic phones that don’t have internet enabled will not support the app.

App Preferences

What is the mobile activity option?

This option within the app collects information regarding your browsing behaviour on your mobile device. You can opt in and out of this in the settings menu. This information is stored anonymously in line with our Privacy Policy. Opting in for this option may make you eligible for more surveys.

What is the location option?

This option within the app uses GPS to track your location. This could be used for example to send you a survey that is relevant to your location. For example, to send you a survey about a place or attraction you have just visited. You can opt in and out of this in the settings menu. This information is stored anonymously in line with our Privacy Policy. Opting in for this option may make you eligible for more surveys.

Can the data be linked to me?

The app is not designed to collect or record any personally identifiable information and the data collected will be kept in the strictest confidence, in line with our Privacy Policy

App Rewards

What are the rewards for participating in mobile surveys?

The rewards for mobile surveys are MySurvey Points, the same points as for online surveys. The number of points you can earn will be indicated with the invitation to the survey and will vary depending on the length of the survey.

How do I check my points balance?

You can check your points balance within the app on the Rewards screen or on the MySurvey website.

App Surveys

Can I take a survey while being offline?

Yes. App based surveys can be completed when you are offline and will send the answers back when you next have a connection.

How frequently will I be invited to mobile surveys?

As with all MySurvey surveys, the frequency can vary from month to month. With mobile surveys being relatively new, there will be fewer mobile survey opportunities than the traditional web surveys. We anticipate there will be at least 1 survey a month to begin with.

How will I know if there is a survey for me to complete?

When you have a survey to complete the app will display a notification. When you go into the app you will see all the surveys available for you to complete in the My Surveys page.

Can I respond to mobile surveys without downloading the app?

There will be some web based mobile surveys that can be answered both on a computer and on a mobile device, however the invitation for these will come to you through your e-mail. You could do these on your phone/tablet, however installing the app will provide additional opportunities for surveys for mobile devices.

Can I start the survey on my phone and complete it on my computer?

For now, we have not included this possibility. However it is something we may implement in the future.

How do mobile surveys work?

There are 3 types of mobile surveys

  • -Text messages, where the questions are sent as a text message and you send a text back with your answer
  • -Smart phone web based surveys – there will be a link to a website where you can complete the survey in the mobile web browser
  • -Smart phone app based surveys – there will be a link in your app notifications to start a survey in the app. App based survey can be completed when you are offline and will send the answers back when you next have a connection

How do I start a PC ONLY surveys?

These surveys are designed for your PC/Laptop only. In order to start these surveys you need to go to your laptop or desktop PC and log into the portal and start the survey on the web browser.

How long does an average survey take to complete?

Typically mobile surveys will be shorter than online surveys with most being 10-15 mins long.

Why can’t all surveys be done on the mobile?

Some surveys will include questions that are not supported by mobile devices or do not display easily on a small screen.

App Support

How do I report a suggestion or a bug in the Mobile app?

If you have a suggestion or if you have identified a bug, please let us know! You can go to the Help menu and contact your MySurvey support team. You can also send us an email as you usually do. Last, you can also use the contact form on the MySurvey portal.

How should I contact if I have questions about the app?
